1. Why do I need a Tintbook?
Tintbook is produced under the same conditions as an actual printing project.
The colors that you see on your computer monitor, laser printouts and even your Printer’s final digital proofs do not accurately reflect printing ink or paper surface. Only a final printed sheet will represent true color matching. That is what using Tintbook is all about!
2. How can correct color formulas be predicted for CMYK screen tint matches?
Simply choose a CMYK color block from Tintbook, and then enter the CMYK component values into the color palette field of the graphic design software application that you are using - e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Quark, Corel, etc.
3. How does TINTBOOK work?
The process is simple. There are over 25,000 CMYK process screen tint combinations to choose from.
The formulas are already prepared - all you have to do is choose the colors.
Every Tintbook comes with a 2-sided spotter card to isolate each color block. The card is black on one side and white on the other side, so that you can view the colors against either a dark or light background.
4. Why don’t the color tools, which are found in computer applications, represent the actual finished color?
Those color tools only provide you with the ability to manipulate and view 4-color process screen tints on your computer screen or laser printouts. These viewing conditions, however, do not accurately represent the final color on a printed sheet.
