LYPTUS:A sustainable Evironmental Product
The Eucalyptus wood used in the Jack Richeson’s Lyptus® Wood Easels come from plantations that blend the managed eucalyptus growth with the native tropic forest rescued from old grazing lands.
Grain: Straight grain and fine, even texture.
Characteristics: Great variety of color. Because the trees are hand–pruned throughout their growth years, wood is very uniform and has few knots.
Durability: Lyptus® has similar density, strength and technical properties as hardwood maple. Lyptus® is about 45% heavier than Mahogany, while the boards are much straighter, flatter and smoother.
Color: The color of Lyptus® varies from pink to pale red–brown with dark pink variations.
Working with a limited palette of mainly transparent watercolor, Lynn’s method of using light and layers will bring drama and depth to your painting. Using a variety of subject matter, lessons will include the dramatic use of light and shadow, layering negative space to create depth, use of transparent paints to create luminous color, and other techniques to bring your watercolors to the next level. Lynn will provide reference materials and lots of individual attention.
