Cold Press Watercolor Blocks contain 100% cotton rag watercolor paper that is mould-made to combine the uniformity of machine made paper with the character of handmade paper. It is sized with natural gelatin, a substance that helps the paper accept washes, scratching and erasing without damaging the fibers of the paper. Made with professional artists in mind, the paper is acid-free, archival, and buffered (to counteract acids that may form in the future). In addition, it's natural white color is obtained without the use of Optical Brightening Agents, which can cause inconsistency in the tone of the paper over time. Arches watercolor paper, made in France since 1492, is made to stand the test of time and even contains an anti-microbial agent to help resist mildew. Watercolor blocks (glued on all 4 sides) eliminate the need for stretching and provide support for drawing and painting.
